The HOA board has scheduled the annual meeting for Sunday, April 27th at 2pm at the golf course clubhouse. During this meeting, we will be discussing the upcoming closure of 126th while the bridge is replaced. If you want to better understand the project, timelines, etc, please plan to attend the meeting. The annual meeting with start promptly at 2pm and will be limited to 1hr. We promise, if you want to leave at 3pm, the meeting will be adjourned on time. There will also be time afterwards to ask further questions and interact with our local politicians. We try to keep the annual meetings informative, and we respect your time. Please take the time to join us. We will have updates on the entrance landscape projects, which were honestly the biggest story until the county decided to take out the bridge. We will have updates on the pool, the Spring party, the Fall party, our financials, some updates on Carmel, the potential for a city ordinance allowing golf carts….talk about a teaser, you are gonna want to hear this. A recap of the annual meeting will not be available as our board secretary will be at a soccer game, and none of the other board members are willing to take notes. So if you want to know what is said, you must be there.
We are also thrilled to announce we will host Thursday night in Shire on May 22nd!!! We are bringing back the Phone Club to rock in another summer in the Shire, if you have never seen them, you need to come over to check it out. We are taking over the back patio of the clubhouse, with music, food, friendship and of course beverages for all ages. Don’t miss this opportunity to hang out with your neighbors, it is always a great time. This event is open to everyone. Bring your friends, your family, come out and enjoy spring in the Shire.
Finally, we are just going to touch on these topics, because everyone should actually know these things: It is okay to work from home, unless your business is illegal, in which case, it is definitely NOT OKAY. If there are actual laws prohibiting your business, it is not okay to run that business from your house. Even if you are working in the world’s oldest profession, unless you are in Nevada, we are pretty sure that profession is still illegal in Indiana. While we are on the soapbox, it is NOT OKAY to park on the grass circle on Somerset Way E. We don’t care if your guests can clear the curb, DON’T PARK ON THE GRASS! We should not need to tell you that! There is no curb cut, there is no driveway, don’t jump the freaking curb. The curb is there to keep your car off. We should not even need to say this. It is like saying don’t eat a Tide pod, that should seem obvious, but I guess now we have to say it.
On to fun topics – we are getting ready for another round of Yard of the WEEK!!! In order to win, you must pay your HOA dues, which will stay steady at $100. Given today’s inflation, our dues are a tremendous value! We respect your investment in our neighborhood, and we work to achieve the goal of protecting your home values.
The GARAGE SALE will be April 23rd to 25th, or special thanks go to Sandy Presnal for coordinating this annual event. This a great chance to clean out all that stuff you think someone else might want and make a few bucks.
